In memory of Karim Rida Said, the Said Foundation offers a number of partial or, exceptionally, full-cost scholarships annually to enable graduates to pursue a course of taught postgraduate study or of postgraduate research or training in subjects to be considered on their merits at universities or other institutions in the UK.
The scholarships are open to Iraqi, Jordanian, Lebanese, Palestinian and Syrian citizens. Scholarships are normally tenable for up to one year. You may be given preference if you have 2 years work experience relevant to your proposed course of study.
The Foundation has joint scholarships schemes with the following universitires

- University of St Andrews,
- University College London and the
- University of Warwick.
You MUST apply to these universities if they have courses meeting your needs. Applicants should apply using the Foundation’s application form by 31 January.
You can apply for the scheme if you:

Plan to return to Syria on completion of their studies. |

Have a good first degree |

Provide evidence of proficiency in English. |

Have applied for a place on at least one course in the UK. |

Have at least 2 years of experience gained after graduation |
You need to complete an application form, which may be obtained from us or the Foundation’s website http://www.saidfoundation.org/whatwedo/masters.shtml or from the British Council office in Damascus or Aleppo.or you can download the application and the guidance notes.
Completed application forms must be returned to us by 31 Jan 09, for the academic year 09/10.(please don't attach any irrelevent paperwork.)
