Our General English courses are designed to develop your listening, speaking, reading and writing skills as well helping you to develop a thorough understanding of grammar. We take a practical hands-on approach that involves you in using the language from the very first day. We divide our students into levels from beginner to advanced. This ensures that the class you go into is the best possible level for you so you can easily progress through each level.
You will have had little contact with English but want to take the brave step of learning this powerful international language. We will give you a good start by teaching you useful vocabulary and grammar. At this level, we will help you to introduce yourself more confidently and exchange simple information; you will also be able to write English words more quickly and improve your pronunciation.
You will know some basic grammar and words but cannot yet communicate many of your ideas. You will study a range of everyday English social expressions you can use for making conversation, shopping, on the telephone, at the airport and checking into a hotel. You will also study present and past simple, comparatives, superlatives, articles, future forms and present perfect
You will already be able to describe simple ideas and things around you. Now, you can widen your vocabulary and develop your grammar. You will discover everyday English, such as social expressions and describing feelings. You will also study high-frequency, useful vocabulary and grammar. You interact in regular, well-structured speaking activities.
You will now have confidence to express yourself in English but want to make fewer mistakes and possess a wider range of vocabulary. This level will help you to develop your range of everyday English social expressions ( informal language) for use when giving opinions, making requests and offers, expressing interest and surprise, and being polite. You will review grammar from previous levels and explore a range of other grammar including modal verbs, indirect questions, reported speech, relative clauses, articles and determiners. You will also develop your understanding of vocabulary by looking at word formation, adjectives, synonyms, idioms, and compound nouns.
You will be on the way to becoming a confident user of English. At this level you will begin to express more complex thoughts than before and pronounce using features of connected speech. You will use a range of everyday English social expressions for everyday English: cross-cultural customs, issues on sport, and life and social ceremonies.
You will develop your range of everyday English social expressions for adding emphasis, interrupting, contradicting, persuading and spontaneous speaking. You will study a range of grammar including perfect forms, participle clauses, articles, complex sentences and discourse, conditional sentences, and inversions. You will develop your vocabulary skills by guessing meaning from context, understanding subtleties in language, collocation, and multi-word verbs.
