The test usually takes place in our offices in Bern. However, you will receive information about the venue with your final confirmation about a week before the test day. Please note that we send out test confirmation and details regarding the test day ONLY by email if you indicate your email address on the application form.
The test starts at 8.45, so it is best if you aim to be there for 8.30. If you arrive late, you might not be allowed to take the test on that date. If for any reason you will be late, please inform us as soon as possible.
You start with a short introduction and a welcome from your invigilator. The first part of the test is the Listening; this takes 40 minutes, including 10 minutes to transfer your answers, and you need to answer 40 questions. Then you continue with the Reading, for which you are allowed one hour, and again, you have to answer 40 questions. Last before lunch is the Writing, for which you have to write two short essays in one hour. In the afternoon you finish the test with your 15 minutes Speaking Exam.
The results are sent out by priority mail on the 13th day after the test date. We are not able to release the results earlier and we are not allowed to give you any information regarding your results, whether on the phone, via e-mail, personally, by fax nor in a letter. If you wish to apply to a university, want to apply for a visa, or need to send your results to any other institution, we will send them directly to the address(es) you give us. Please note that we are not allowed to send you more than one copy of your results, and the one copy sent to you is for your reference.
Once we have posted the results on the 13th day after the test we do not accept responsibilty for non-delivery of mail. If you would like to have your results sent to you by registered mail, please contact us in the office.
We have recently introduced a new service which will allow you to have access to your results online by using the following link. You will be able to do this on the 13th day after your test after 3:00pm.
