Poetry and Pictures

On Thursday 16 October at 20.00h the foyer of the Kunsthaus Zurich, will be transformed into a poetry performance stage. Four language artists will confront Scottish artist David Shrigley's text-based work, currently on show at the Kunsthaus, with texts of their own. We are delighted to welcome the fastest rapper in the world, Asian-Irish Londoner JC001, to perform at this event.

Having started rapping at the age of 14, JC001 has enjoyed considerable acclaim in Europe and the UK, supporting Sting in 2001. Growing up in the cultural melting pot that is Ladbroke Grove in West London, JC001 was exposed to reggae and Rap from an early age. His work is a thrilling and vibrant mix of different cultural influences. Joining him will be Tracy Splinter from South Africa, Nora-Eugenie Gomringer from Germany and Jürg Halter from Switzerland.

The event will form an exciting cross-over between literature and the visual arts, and will add a new dimension to our Asian-British series. The performances will be in both English and German.

For more information on the David Shrigley exhibition please contact the Kunsthaus Zurich (Heimplatz 1, 8024 Zürich) or visit their website at: www.kunsthaus.ch
