CHOOSING A COURSE - Undergraduate studies

Our EducationUK website provides you with an easy-to-search database of courses on offer in the UK (including English language, degree and postgraduate courses).

Undergraduate degree courses in the UK are called Bachelor Degrees (equivalent to a "kandidatexamen" from Swedish universities). Both Universities and Colleges of Higher Education offer undergraduate courses in the UK. There are 111 universities and 60 colleges of higher education. Universities can award degrees and tend to be larger. Colleges of higher education tend to be smaller, often specialise in one subject area and their degrees are approved by a university.

Our Education Information Subject Sheets provide you with more detailed information on different subject areas from veterinary studies and medicine to performing arts.

CAN I WORK OR STUDY IN SWEDEN AFTER COMPLETING MY COUSRSE?

You may need to get your qualification (ie if you have studied medicine, psychology, law etc) recognised by the National Agency for Higher Education (Högskoleverket) in Sweden. If you want more information, please look at www.hsv.se.

If you want to continue studying in Sweden after your degree in the UK, this is an option. The institutions you apply to will of course decide what they will accept of your bachelor degree from the UK, and might even ask you to do extra assignments or exams.
