Commonwealth Youth Unite 2013

British Council Sri Lanka is organising an event to celebrate the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting due in November 2013. The event will be a celebration with the involvement of the country’s youth in recognising the work and values of the commonwealth.

The celebration will come to life at a carnival organised in Colombo. The carnival aims to have stalls representing as many countries of the Commonwealth together with a lot more activities to engage the youth participating.

Amongst these various activities is the launch of a song and music video created with the Commonwealth values as the focus of its content.

What we would like you to do:

Record the song in your mother tongue/national language(s) and/or
Create a music video with Commonwealth values in mind showcasing your country/ local area, for the song
Submit the song and/or video to British Council Sri Lanka by 20 October 2013 the latest.

Guidelines for the above will be available on this page within the next couple of days.

The song will then be launched at the celebrations online. The individual versions of the song will also be available on line and a video ‘mash-up’ is the final product to be launched at the celebrations.
