British Council Sri Lanka has launched a new integrated call centre, in a specially-constructed location, staffed by Customer Services Officers from all sections of the office, and with a new single number for customers to call: 011-4521521.
Now, instead of having to call 2 or 3 or even 4 different reception points, callers will get all the information they need from a single point. A network information system has been created to give Customer Service Officers access to all the information they need to answer customer queries. The effect is a much smoother journey for the customer, and a much more integrated British Council customer service team.
The call centre went live at 0900 on Wednesday 13 February 2008. Director Gill Westaway cut the ribbon and declared the call centre open, and then took the very first call herself, telling the surprised first caller he had won a special prize. Mr Sandun Tharaka takes home a beautiful watch and a BC key-ring set.
