This membership is only available in Colombo. However this facility is incorporated into the General membership of our library in Kandy.
As a member you can borrow 2 feature videos for a period of 1 week except videos labelled 'for institutions only'.

You will need to fill an application form available at the membership counter.
Membership by production of identification We will grant membership over the counter on the production of a national identity card, driver's licence, valid passport, letter of introduction from employer or work identity card.
Non-Sri Lankan citizens working in Sri Lanka should produce a letter of introduction from employer or a work identity card.
Membership by deposit If you are unable to produce the above listed identification documents you can obtain membership by payment of a refundable deposit of Rs 3000 in addition to the annual membership fee. Refunds will be paid with 24 hours notice.
Membership card You must carry the membership card at all times when you visit the library. Membership is not transferable
Renewal of membership Membership is renewable within 3 months from the date of expiry. You must produce your current membership card, return any overdue items and settle any pending fines.
Transfer of membership Transfer of membership between our libraries in Colombo and Kandy can be arranged with prior permission from the Head Lending Services.
Loss of membership card This must be reported immediately, and you may purchase a replacement for the lost card.
Cancellation of membership If library privileges have been misused we reserve the right to cancel your membership at our discretion.
DVD collection We plan to introduce a collection of DVDs this year. If you are interested in this service please contact our Assistant Manager
Reservations You can reserve feature videos only. Reservation forms are available at the issue desk for Rs 25.
Payments All cash transactions close at 1730
Extending time period of borrowed videos You may extend the loan period of videos you borrow only once, on or before the due date, if they are not already reserved. Your request must be in writing, giving the due date, your membership number and the bar code (e.g. CB34355) number of the material borrowed. We cannot allow requests by telephone. You can make e-mail requests.
Overdue charges You should return all videos borrowed on or before the due date stamped on the item borrowed. Our fines on overdue videos are Rs 25 per day
Copyright All videos are subject to copyright restrictions. You must sign a copyright undertaking and must adhere to this.
Care for videos Please rewind all videos before you return them. You must return all videos in good condition. Please note that if any damage is caused, you will be required to meet the cost of replacement.
Damage to videos Please check all videos carefully before you borrow them and bring any damage to the notice of
our staff immediately. If you do not do this you will be held responsible for the damage and subsequent payment.
Loss of videos Please note that you are responsible for your membership card and all videos you borrow. Videos issued on a lost card remain the responsibility of the member in whose name the card is issued. If a video is lost, its replacement will be charged to the member. Refunds only if the item is returned to us within one month from the date of payment.
Video rating We have videos selected from a wide spectrum of UK films portraying British culture and way of life. Some of the films may not be suitable to all tastes. The certificate issued by the British Board of Film Classification listed below will guide you in your selection.
Video viewing facility Documentary video viewing facility is available at our English Learning Zone.
Library tours Tours of our Libraries can be arranged with the Head Lending Services by prior notice. Special tours are given to institutions. Non members are also accommodated prior to registration.
Personal property You may leave all personal items at the baggage counter at your own risk. You are only permitted to bring in blank sheets of paper.
