Session 1	GRAMMAR Key concepts used to describe parts of speech and grammatical structures, and some of the pedagogical issues in teaching grammar
Session 2	LEXIS Concepts used in describing aspects of vocabulary and some of the factors which lead to vocabulary errors by learners

WEEK 2	SUNDAY 22 APRIL
Session 1	PHONOLOGY Concepts used in describing different elements of pronunciation, the phonemic script
Session 2	FUNCTIONS Concepts of language functions and exponents, and formality and appropriacy of functional language

WEEK 3	SUNDAY 29 APRIL
Session 1	READING The ‘four skills’ of English, and the key concepts related to reading and its sub skills
Session 2	WRITING Key concepts related to writing and its sub skills

WEEK 4	SUNDAY 6 MAY
Session 1	LISTENING Differences between written and spoken language, and the key concepts of listening
Session 2	SPEAKING Key concepts in oral communication, and the balance of accuracy and fluency in speaking practice

WEEK 5	SUNDAY 13 MAY
Session 1	MOTIVATION Characteristics of motivated learners, why motivation is important to learning and linking various classroom activities to motivational factors
Session 2	EXPOSURE AND FOCUS ON FORM Importance of a focus on form, analysing language structures and identifying potential learner difficulties, and designing simple concept questions to check understanding

WEEK 6	SUNDAY 20 MAY
Session 1	THE ROLE OF ERROR Distinctions between different types of errors, and the issues involved in error correction
Session 2	DIFFERENCES BETWEEN L1 AND L2 LEARNING Differences between L1 and L2 learning in the classroom and out of class learning

WEEK 7	SUNDAY 27 MAY
Session 1	LEARNER CHARACTERISTICS Learning styles, vocabulary learning strategies and relating age differences to learning preferences
Session 2	LEARNER NEEDS Your own learning needs and meeting your learners’ needs

WEEK 8	SUNDAY 3 JUNE
Session 1	PRESENTATION TECHNIQUES AND INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES Differences between warmer and lead-in stages and advantages and disadvantages of different presentation techniques
Session 2	PRACTICE ACTIVITIES FOR LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT Language practice activities and identifying which skills different activities practise

WEEK 9	SUNDAY 10 JUNE
Session 1	ASSESSMENT TYPES AND TASKS Differences between warmer and lead-in stages and advantages and disadvantages of different presentation techniques
Session 2	REVISION Revision of the main vocabulary and concepts of Module 1

WEEK 10	SUNDAY 17 JUNE
Session 1	MOCK MODULE 1 TEST Exam practice for the TKT Module One test
Session 2	EXAM FEEDBACK Feed back on mock test and test tips
