POLICY

This policy applies to all candidates whether individually registered or registered via a school.

STAGE 1 - REFUNDS
1.

1.If a candidate gives written notice of withdrawal before the closing date published by the British Council, refund will be given less an administrative fee of Rs 2,000/- per subject for International GCSEs and per unit for GCEs.

(Please note it will take approximately three months from the local closing date to process the approved refund. Payment is made by cheque or bank transfer.)

STAGE 2 - REFUNDS
1. If a candidate gives a written notice of withdrawal of exam entries on medical grounds during the examination period, Edexcel Refund application must be signed by the medical practitioner (a list of approved or acceptable hospitals and/or medical practitioners whose medical certificates are acceptable to British Council will be published on our website. It is recommended to use the government hospital system and selected medical practitioners for each area) along with statement to the effect that the candidate was unable to sit the examination(s). Such refunds need to be approved by the examinations board. Upon the approval British Council will be issuing the refund, less an administrative fee of Rs 2,500/- per subject for International GCSEs and per unit for GCEs.
Please note it will take approximately four months from the local closing date to process the
approved refund. Refund payments are made by cheque or bank transfer, please note cash
refunds are not possible.

No refunds will be allowed for practical exams. Further AICT registrations (three units or six units
registration) fees will not be refunded unless one wish to withdraw all units


PROCEDURE

1. Fill in the British Council refund claim form.
2. Please attach the completed Edexcel Refund application form
3. Private candidates: attach a copy of the payment receipt.
School candidates: If the receipt is issued to the school then please obtain a letter from the school stating that school is authorising the candidate to obtain the refund and also stating the receipt numbers of the bulk payment made to the British Council.
4. Attach a copy of the statement of entry.

Please note that the refund of board fees depend on regulations issued by the individual board.
