A Cambridge English qualification Once you have earned a Cambridge English certificate, you hold one of the most valuable English qualifications in the world.

The examination takes about 3 hours in total and consists of four parts:

The Speaking test is conducted face-to-face by qualified examiners. Successful candidates are expected to be able to communicate effectively in face-to-face situations in a legal context.
Written papers will be marked in the UK by Cambridge ESOL examiners. Test results are usually reported within six weeks of the test date.
ILEC is linked to the Common European Framework of Reference for Modern Languages (CEFR). The exam is set at CEFR levels B2-C1 which correspond to FCE/CAE levels. Examinations at the C1 level may be used as proof of language necessary to work in an international context or to follow a course of study related to law at university level.
ILEC gives detailed, meaningful results. All candidates receive a Statement of Results. Candidates who achieve Level B2 or above will also receive a certificate.

Your certificate If you achieve Level B2 or above you will receive a certificate. This will show one of three grades:

C1 Pass with Merit – this indicates good achievement at Level C1 |

C1 Pass – this covers the range of ability from a borderline pass to good achievement at Level C1 of the CEFR |

B2 Pass – this indicates that your ability is within Level B2 of the CEFR |
