Edexcel London GCE A-level and AS-level Examinations: June 2011 Results

ENQUIRIES ABOUT RESULTS (EAR)/RE-CORRECTIONS
The Local closing date for Enquiries about Results/Re-corrections is Saturday 10 September 2011

Applications for re-corrections should be made only in respect of candidates whose performance differed markedly from their teachers’ expectations. Each request must be accompanied by a letter from the teacher/tutor concerned giving full details as to why it is felt that a clerical check or a total re-mark should be carried out. Applications not supported this way will not be accepted.
Recorrection form (Form RC) to request for re-corrections can be collected from Examinations Services. The payment can be made in cash, by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Amex), by cheque, bank draft, or bank transfer drawn in favour of the British Council.

Fees
Note that the board fee is per paper. Subjects with two papers will be charged twice the board fee.

Service 1 (Clerical re-check)
Board Fee - Clerical Re- check per paper: Rs. 3,500/-
(Edexcel takes approximately 20 working days to review the inquiry from the date of receipt)

Service 2 (Reviewing of marking of externally assessed components)
Board Fee - Remark of Scripts per paper: Rs. 7,700/-
(Edexcel takes approximately 30 working days to review the enquiry from the date of receipt)

EAR Service 2P (Reviewing of marking of externally assessed components- Priority Service)
Fee - Priority Mark per paper (Thursday 25 August 2011)= Rs.  8600/-
(Edexcel aim to complete the enquiry within 18 days of acknowledging the request)

Candidates’ marks and subject grades may be confirmed, lowered or raised.




ACCESS TO SCRIPTS (ATS)

Access to scripts (Photocopies)
Copied scripts are only available for GCE AS-level, A-level and AEA, and are used to allow school/candidates to make a decision on whether to go ahead with an EAR Service 2 request. Please note that these advance copy services are NOT available if requesting EAR Service 2P (Priority Enquiries about Results)

Access to scripts (Original)
Fee per unit/paper: Rs 3,000/-
Deadline: Friday 30 September 2011
(Please note that Edexcel cannot provide original scripts for papers that were marked online. Instead,an electronic copy of the script in PDF format will be made available to the centre.Once an original script has been returned to a centre its security is compromised and it can no longerbe subject to an enquiry or investigation.Original scripts/PDFs will not be made available to centres until the Enquiries About Results is carried out.)

DATA CHANGES
The local deadline for Data Changes will be Saturday 10 September 2011

If there are any mistakes with regard to the spelling of your name, date of birth etc. please forward them to us as soon as possible. Any subsequent changes will be charged Rs 9,000/- as this will require a new certificate.
Form DCH for this purpose can be collected from Examinations Services.



GRADE UPGRADING

Candidates who have cashed-in and have received an overall grade for a subject but are not satisfied with their grade can re-sit units. However, any improved unit mark will not be added to the current grade. A separate certificate will be issued with the new overall grade and improved unit marks.
Candidates who have not cashed-in can repeat units to improve their marks; these candidates will then either cash-in when they submit the final application for the units, or on receipt of results.



LATE CASH-IN FOR June 2011 SESSION
Absolute closing date for AS, or A-level Late Cash–in requests will be Saturday 10 September 2011

Request for AS & A2 Late Cash–in

Candidates who have completed an adequate number of units or have no intention of re-sitting any units in future exam sessions MUST CASH IN on or before Saturday 10 September 2011 in order to obtain a certificate. A fee of Rs 1,500 will be charged for each Late Cash–In syllabus specification + Rs 1000 per candidate fee.
Late cash-ins are only allowed immediately following EACH particular series. Cash-ins for May/June 2011 are only allowed up to this date. No future cash-ins for this exam series will be allowed after this date.  If you do not cash-in you will not receive a subject grade/certificate.
