Organised as part of our Animating Literature programme, Book and Wine Tasting is organised with the key objective of promoting our annual anthology New writing – “An exhilarating collection of new writings from established and new writers.” This concept of Animating Literature focuses on looking at literature with a different eye in order to alter the stereo typed belief that literature is merely ‘a book on a shelf’. What better way to alter one’s perceptions than to give a taste of the best wines as the incentive . . .
The wine is usually served first after which the readings were picked that related to the mood, style and feel of that particular wine. This is a unique evening, where the guests have the chance to taste a variety of wines while listening to some excellent readings from New Writing 12 and featured writers as well.
“I thought it was an excellent idea. Would not have learnt about Writeclique.net (to which i have contributed now) and New Writing otherwise” Mike Masillamani, Masters Advertising
“Thank you once again for having convinced me to attend. It was really enjoyable, short, fun and great readings! Please keep me in mind for the next one, ” Yasmin Cader, Trans Asia
“It was reverting back to another time for me! Wholly enjoyable. Rohan's voice and the carbernet' boquet equally substantial. Certainly look forward to more unorthodox ways to words” Dylan Pereira, Maersk Sea Land
