Created by one of the most celebrated authors of comics in the UK, Goliath is an ingenious demonstration of sensitivity combined with bold design which reconsiders, reworks and revolutionises this traditional biblical story.
Tom Gauld is an illustrator and caricaturist who has worked for The Guardian, The New Yorker, The Believer, The New York Times and Granta. He provided the illustration for Ted Hughes’s children’s book The Iron Man and designed the cover for the luxury edition of The Three Musketeers published by Penguin Books.
Tom Gauld is also author of a series of short stories including Guardians of the Kingdom, Hunter and Painter and The Gigantic Robot. His stories have appeared in the last three editions of the anthology of comics Kramers Ergot. In 2008 he was artist in residence at the Fumetto Festival in Lucerne, Switzerland. For the past five years, Tom Gauld has authored a weekly comic strip in The Guardian newspaper.
