Partnerships with local schools 

Many of our teaching centres offer English courses for young learners, but we’ve also developed partnerships with schools in surrounding areas. This has been running for many years, allowing us to understand how school students can get the most from studying English with the British Council. 

If your school partners with us, students, teachers and the school itself benefits. 

For students 

• access to our courses without having to travel to one of our teaching centres
• courses are timetabled to suit the school day – eg: in school lunch breaks
• courses are developed to suit the needs of the school and its students
• increased confidence through learning in a familiar environment. 

For teachers 

We offer teacher training to improve the level of teachers’ English, and to help them prepare for recognised qualifications, such as

• Cambridge main suite exams
• Teacher Knowledge Test (TKT)
• Examen de habilitación en Inglés de la Comunidad de Madrid. (Madrid schools only) 

For schools 

• Schools are able to make best use of their facilities.
• We offer a consultancy service to help your school to gain bilingual status, or with any other aspects of teaching English
