Learning Support

We support your child’s learning both inside and outside the classroom. We offer

  • parent-teacher meetings for parents of young learners
  • a special Young Learners’ Library
  • a computer room where Young Learners can use CD-ROMs specially developed by the British Council for language learning
  • online resources and a Young Learners social networking site.

Parent-teacher meetings for young learners

We see you as a vital part of your child’s education. We organise information sessions for new customers at the start of the academic year and parent-teacher meetings at the end of each term, as well as newsletters and focus groups.

Library

With over 26,000 items to use and borrow, our library has the widest range of materials for young learners in Madrid. Our Young Learners automatically get free library membership, and there’s material for all ages and levels. All materials have been selected to help students improve their writing, listening and speaking English skills –and to enjoy reading books in English. Resources include:

  • fiction
  • exam practice books
  • grammar and skills books
  • graded readers
  • audiobooks
  • DVDs, CDs and magazines

All study resources are graded by our teachers and are mapped against the courses offered in our teaching centre.

Online portal

Our online portal offers a wide variety of learning resources and specially created interactive content so that students can practice their English between classes. It also provides a showcase for students’ work – artwork, web pages and videos.

Our student social network – like Tuenti and Facebook – is a private, safe online community for our older students. It’s open to students across Europe and gives them a place to make new friends and practice their English with other learners. It’s monitored by British Council teachers, who create a welcoming and positive environment for all students.

Extra-curricular study

Our reading circle is a great way for students to improve their reading skills and make new friends at the same time.

There are special events running throughout the year, including competitions, workshops and quizzes.
