What is Aptis?
Aptis is an English Language evaluation tool developed by the British Council for companies and institutions. The British Council is a global organisation with over 70 years’ experience in 104 countries, and is considered leader in the field of English language teaching and linguistic evaluation.
Aptis has been developed by experts in the field of linguistic evaluation and its design is informed by current research findings in applied linguistics. Its innovative design evaluates the candidate’s ability to resolve “linguistic tasks”, such as writing an email or talking about their work. Candidates can therefore demonstrate their ability to understand and communicate in English in real life situations through Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening.
