Education and Society

Bett enables thousands of visitors to discover how technology can improve and enhance learning, from early years to Higher Education and in 2013, will include workplace learning and training. Schools will remain at the heart of Bett as they extend their reach and embrace lifelong learning. Every January, Bett becomes a hub of innovation, inspiration and guidance. This is set to get bigger and better as Bett moves to ExCeL. This multi award winning venue located in London’s docklands has hosted over 3800 events and is home to 6 onsite hotels, over 40 cafes, bars & restaurants, 3,700 parking spaces, within easy access from Custom House and Prince Regent DLR stations. 

Information Communication Technology (ICT) is one of the most dynamic sectors within UK education.  ICT and e-Learning form an important component of education reform programmes in many countries, and are also seen as an important means of expanding access to education and raising the skills of the workforce.  The UK is a world leader in this field, and has much experience to share, covering the development of national strategies, the transformation in the nature of learning brought about by ICT, the changing role of teachers, a dynamic new interactive content industry, experience of community and industry partnerships, and a range of international partnerships in educational ICT.
