Learning Support
We support your child’s learning both inside and outside the classroom. We offer
- parent-teacher meetings for parents of young learners
- a special Young Learners’ Library
- a computer room where Young Learners can use CD-ROMs specially developed by the British Council for language learning
- special events, competitions and quizzes - all designed to make learning a fun and social experience.
Parent-teacher meetings for young learners
We organise parent-teacher meetings at the start of the academic year, with extra sessions each term covering issues such as
- First Certificate
- phonics
- how to help your child with English
You’ll also be invited to a one-to-one meeting with your child’s teacher to discuss their progress.
Library
Our library has the widest range of materials for young learners in Barcelona. It’s free to use and to borrow. All materials have been selected to help students improve their writing, listening and speaking English skills –and to enjoy reading books in English. Resources include
- fiction
- exam practice books
- grammar and skills books
- graded readers
- audiobooks
- DVDs, CDs and magazines
All study resources are graded by our teachers and are mapped against the courses offered in our teaching centre.
Young learners can also become members of the library at the British Council Amigo learning centre.
Online portal
Our online portal offers a wide variety of learning resources as well as the latest teaching centre news. You can view your child’s progress reports here too.
