Eddie Ladd presents the duet Sawn-off Scarface, a (semi) ironic tribute to Scarface, Brian de Palma’s notorious 1983 film classic, starring Al Pacino. Performed to a short, tough synopsis of the plot, and on something close to a sticky, wet night-club floor, it reduces nearly three hours of film action to twelve minutes. A no-technology attempt on filmic effects and the glamour, cynicism and homoerotics of the gangster genre.
“Her Scarface is not easily labelled as dance, or as theatre either. It’s just ferocious and funny, as over the top in its small way as the film, though charmingly contained” . Deborah Meyers, The Vancouver Sun.
Sawn-off Scarface is part of a two hour dance programme. Dates and times are as follows
6 July Museu Picasso -12h00 CCCB - Espai en Moviment - 22h30
