Applications for Comenius School Partnerships

How is my application assessed?
When all applications have been received, the programme team will assess them all. In some cases you may be contacted by the programme team to provide additional information in support of your application.

We recruit adjudication panels of external experts to assess a random selection of applications, then the panel meets with the programme team, usually six weeks after the deadline to go through their assessment and agree final ratings.

When will I hear whether I have been successful?
You will normally hear our rating of your application within three months of submitting your application. If you have been unsuccessful, you will receive feedback from the programme team.

If you are successful, we will then embark on a consultation process with the other national agencies in Europe, which involves matching applicants with their proposed partners, and  finding out whether enough of the partners have also been successful to make the project eligible.

For Comenius School Partnership applications you should hear whether your project has been approved in July / August. The contract period begins in September.

What if I am unsuccessful?
We will automatically send you feedback on your application if you are unsuccessful. If you want to talk to a member of the programme team about your feedback, contact us.

Applications for Comenius Professional Development grants
You should hear from us 1-2 weeks after we receive your application. If you are successful, you can then confirm arrangements and we will issue an agreement for you to sign and return before you go.

Applications sent to the European Commission
Applications for the development of training products and networks will be assessed by a panel of experts at the European Commission. You should be notified of the outcome of your application by mid-summer.
