Reducing the Gap – Young people of influence
Do you want to encourage young people to play an active role in society? The Regional Youth Work Unite North East launched a project in January 2012 to do just that.
Reducing the Gap – an 18 month Youth in Action-funded campaign brings together young people who are keen to influence policies and decision-making on youth unemployment in the North East of England.
Through the project, young people have the chance join with service providers and employers to tackle a major social issue – and to enjoy the satisfaction of knowing their ideas are being taken seriously.
Along the way, the young people have the opportunity to develop the kind of skills and experiences that future employers are sure to be looking for.
If this is a model that could be adapted to suit your needs find out more about the programme and apply for a grant today.
