Enter the world of advertising
Fashion, photography and design may be some of the most exciting careers around, but they’re also some of the hardest to break into. That’s why, if you’ve got big ambitions, it might well pay you to get involved in a Youth in Action project like the one we ran in Cardiff recently.
Called ‘The Clothes Line’, the project gave young people the chance to explore the concept of fashion promotion and its impact on young people locally and on a European level – and the chance to find out, for themselves, what life feels like in the fashion fast lane.
The young people ran workshops on different aspects of fashion advertising and promotion and worked alongside other established fashion design, model, and photography youth groups to develop their brand, plan fashion shoots and create promotional images.
The campaign revolved around different European themes - in particular, the different costumes and cultures within Europe and finished off with an exhibition and showcase and the production of a one-off magazine to showcase the group’s fashion promotion work.
If you’re interested in sharpening your talents and boosting your employment prospects, an experience like this could be priceless.
The Clothes Line illustrates just how much you stand to gain from a Youth in Action project – a project that can arm you with the skills you need to add glitter to your CV and get a foothold in your chosen career.
