A volunteering experience to remember

Sabine, Morgana, Vania and DianaNot everyone is brave enough to step beyond their ‘comfort zone’. But if you are – as the young volunteers on our Depaul Ireland Homeless Project discover – the rewards can be enormous.

The Depaul Projects offer young people like you the chance to grow and learn as a volunteer working in our Dublin or Belfast shelters for homeless street drinkers while at the same time experiencing the distinctive culture of Ireland.

Volunteers come and work on Depaul’s projects for 11 months, during which time they participate in a rich programme of activities – everything from learning to cook healthily and to live well on a limited budget, to building CV skills and taking part in a range of workshops.

The work is challenging and requires patience and sensitivity – but it is always uniquely rewarding. You gain satisfaction from making a genuine and positive difference to the lives of people at the very margins of society – and you gain new skills, new insights, and a new level of confidence that you will carry with you for the rest of your life.
