Defending Youth Rights

The symposium "Defending Youth Rights – Hard Law vs Soft Law" in the youthpolicy symposium series aimed to highlight the current challenges for young people in accessing their rights, to review the existing framework for ensuring the rights of young people and to critically engage with the recent debates on the need to increase young people’s access to their rights.

The symposium has provided a valuable starting point to raise and respond to the pros & cons of a convention on youth rights, and to discuss how to best champion—to research, address and advocate for—the rights and needs of young people in Europe and beyond.
