Young Creative Fashion Entrepreneur Award 2011

What is Young Creative Fashion Entrepreneur Award programme?

The Young Creative Fashion Entrepreneur Award finds the brightest stars in the world of international fashion, recognising the importance of entrepreneurs in driving forward the fashion industries, developing their independent sector and representing the best of what’s going on in their local scene. Since 2005, 80 young fashion entrepreneurs from more than 40 countries have taken part in the programme, building an active alumni network in the process, seeing the creation of new collaborations and business, co-designed lines/collections, increased profiles and participation at international fashion weeks in Brazil, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Sri Lanka, and more. Slovenia is taking part at the award for the first time.

All national winners will be selected in countries around the world who will participate in a shared programme in the UK with valuable networking and idea exchange with their international and UK peers in the fashion sectors. The UK tour will run alongside London Fashion Week industry events in September 2011.

In Slovenia the international jury, composed by: Romana Kramar, director of Modiana, the biggest department store in Slovenia, Barbara Podlogar, a fashion designer, Joseph Rain, director of ASANTI MAA agency, Stefan Siegel, founder of Not Just a Label and Petra Windschnurer, fashion and beauty editor of ELLE Slovenija selected Nataša Hrupič as the Slovenian winner.

In September 2011 Nataša will travel to the UK for a one week industry programme to develop opportunities for commercial and collaborative work in future. The programme will include:

Curated group meetings to give an overview of what’s happening in the UK fashion industry
Peer networking with the international participants and UK young fashion entrepreneurs
Access to senior UK industry figures (master-class and a lunch for select invitees), including potential advice/ongoing mentoring and investment
Time for individual business meetings
Attendance at London Fashion Week including an international networking reception where participants give a short pitch about their work to delegates
