CANCELLATIONS, TRANSFERS AND REFUNDS

CANCELLATION

Candidates who choose to cancel their IELTS test application more than 5 weeks prior to the test date will be refunded the full test fee. However, if candidates have been issued an access code for "Road to IELTS" an administrative fee of 25% will be deducted from the test fee, if this has been paid.

If they cancel less than 5 weeks before the test day and a place has been confirmed, they will not be refunded the test fee.

TRANSFER / CHANGE OF TEST DATE

If a candidate wishes to change their test date and transfer to another session they may do so if they notify the test centre more than five weeks before the selected test date.  An administrative fee of 25% will be deducted from the test fee if this has been paid.

Candidates who wish to transfer the test date within the five-week period prior to the test date will be treated as a cancellation.

Candidates must select a new preferred test date within the next three-month period which will be confirmed by the IELTS Administrator depending on availability for the selected test date. There may be limited availability for test dates in the first five-week period.

To request a transfer candidates must complete the form and return it to our office.

REFUNDS

Candidates who are absent on the test day will normally be charged the full fee, unless the request is:

for medical reasons;
loss or bereavement – death of a close family member;
hardship/trauma – victim of crime / traffic accident.

In the above cases, candidates must provide appropriate evidence in the form of a medical certificate, a death certificate or police report to support the request.

To request a refund candidates must complete the form , attach the appropriate documentation and send it back to us by post, no later than 5 working days after the test date. Late requests will not be accepted and will be marked as absent and forfeit all claims. Copies sent by fax or e-mail are not acceptable.

The Administrator will advise the candidate within one week of lodging the application whether or not their request has been approved.

If the application is approved, the candidate will be refunded 75% of the test fee. Refunds are processed by bank transfer within 3 to 4 weeks.
