How to register? Orange lozenge left

Registration for Cambridge English exams can be done in two ways - through a language school or as an individual candidate.

NEW!! Cambridge Exams - test day photo required from 2012

From 2012 all candidates taking Cambridge Exams (excluding KET and KET for Schools) are required to have their photograph taken on the day of their test. Cambridge have introduced this because of the increase in candidates using their Cambridge Exams qualification for immigration purposes and applying for work, university and college.

When candidates register to take the exam, they will be asked to sign to give their consent for the photograph. If candidates are under 18, their parents or legal guardians, will need to give consent (see the application form).

Test day photos ensure that your exam is secure and is even more trusted and valued.

Photos taken on the day of the test are made available on the Results Verification Service website along with your test results. Candidates can control who can access their results and view their photo by giving your Candidate ID number and Candidate secret number to universities, employers and other organisations you want to be able to verify your results.

This new regulation is one of a series of measures that have been introduced by Cambridge English in order to further enhance the security and integrity of the Cambridge Exams.

Candidates attending a language course

Register with your language school if you are attending a preparatory course and if the school offers this service.
If you miss the school’s deadline you can still register as an individual candidate with us.

Individual candidates

For students who prepare for the exams on their own or if they have missed the language school's deadline or if the school does not register candidates themselves.

Check out the dates and fees. Also check that you are available during the window period for the speaking components.

Fill out the Entry Form and send, fax or scan a signed copy to our office together with your proof of payment.

Registration and payment instructions are given on the Entry Form under Section 3.  Check the exam fee on the dates and fees page.
You can make the payment through any bank and then send, fax or scan a copy of the bank payment slip to us.
Registration will only be complete when we have received both your entry form and bank payment.

Refunds

Once you have paid the test fee it is no longer possible to postpone or cancel the test and you will lose the full fee unless you can provide medical evidence that you were ill during the examination period.

To apply for a refund:

send us a completed request for refund form together with a medical certificate within 14 days of the exam taking place.

We will reimburse you 70 percent of the fee if your request is approved within one month.

Refunds can also be considered in the case of loss or bereavement of close family.

Please remember that once you have registered and paid the exam fee:

your entry cannot be transferred to a future session
nor can we refund you if you change your mind.

Timetable

Approximately two weeks before the first examination date you will receive a Confirmation of Entry and Notice to Candidates with all the details about the time and venue of the examination.  If you do not receive this Confirmation by that time contact us immediately.

Results

You can access your preliminary results on the Cambridge web site approximately two months after the examinations have taken place. You will receive your access details for the Results Online service on your Confirmation of Entry prior to the exam.

A month later you will receive the actual Cambridge certificate by registered post if you have successfully passed the exam. If you are registered through a school, you will receive your certificate from the school.

Candidates' answers and other work done by candidates as part of an examination remain the property of Cambridge ESOL and under no circumstances will these be released to candidates, schools or centres.

Check out past results of exams taken in Slovenia.

Loss of certificate

We cannot replace certificates locally. However, if you lose your certificate, you may apply directly to Cambridge ESOL for a Certified Statement of Results for which you will be expected to pay an additional fee.

Special needs candidates

Cambridge ESOL can make special provision for candidates who have long-term or temporary disabilities. Please tell us before you register if you have any special needs and we will check with Cambridge what suitable arrangements can be made. Please note that you will be required to provide a recent medical report to support your request.
