FCE is also the most widely taken exam worldwide and has the most widespread recognition. It is set at Council of Europe language level B2, which is usually reached after having completed 500 or 600 hours of study. Successful candidates are able to communicate spontaneously in reallife situations without breakdowns in conversation or understanding. This exam is taken by secondary and university students as well as people in jobs needing proof of a sound knowledge of English.

The CAE exam offers a language qualification for those who need to use English frequently in their jobs. In Slovenia it is mostly taken by university students, people in business and professional sectors. It is recognised by the majority of UK universities and higher education institutions as proof of sufficient ability to study in English. CAE is an advanced exam, set at language level C1 of the Council of Europe.

CPE is a very advanced level exam approaching a standard of English similar to that of an educated native speaker. As such it fulfils entry requirements for university study in English language and is recognised by UK universities, many universities in other English-speaking countries and by other professional bodies world-wide.
