Dreams + Teams worldwide
Dreams + Teams
What is Dreams + Teams?

Dreams + Teams is an international programme organised by the Youth Sports Trust and the British Council which aims to promote leadership and citizenships skills in young people though the medium of sport. The Youth Sports Trust provides expert trainers who train teachers from around the world to become Local Tutors for the programme.  These Tutors in turn train young people from their schools to act as Young Leaders who organise sports festivals in their community.

By taking part in the programme these Young Leaders are challenged to:

demonstrate leadership
be active citizens in their community
value and promote cross-cultural understanding

An important part of the Dreams + Teams programme is for Young Leaders to work with their counterparts in the UK and around the world, via e-mail, video conferencing and face-to-face contact.  This helps develop international and cross-cultural understanding to - think globally while acting locally.

This world-wide project involves over 30 countries from all continents. Young people aged 14-19 develop leadership skills and cross-cultural awareness through sport and international educational links. For more information on what is going on in the project internationally, please click here.
