Dictionaries and calculator are not permitted for use in the BioMedical Admissions Test.

Introduction

BMAT is the BioMedical Admissions Tests.  It is a subject-specific admissions test taken by applicants to certain medicine and veterinary medicine related courses at selected institutions in the UK.

What are the components of the test?

The BioMedical Admissions Test (BMAT) is a two hour pen and paper test consisting of three sections.

Section 1: Aptitude and Skills (60 minutes - 35 multiple choice questions)

Section 2: Scientific Knowledge and Applications (30 minutes - 27 multiple choice questions)

Section 3: Writing Task (30 minutes - essay question)

When can I take the BMAT 2012?

Test Date: 7 November 2012 (Wednesday)

Test Time: 2:30-4:30pm (HK time)

When is the registration period?

Standard Entry: 1-28 September 2012 (before 12:00 noon HK time)

Late Entry: 28 September (after 12:00 noon HK time) to 15 October 2012 (before 12:00 noon HK time)

Standard Entry: HK$1,900

Late Entry: HK$2,700

How can I register for the test?

By post - Please send your completed registration form with a copy of your HKID card or passport, and a cheque made payable to “British Council” or pay by credit card (please see Information for Candidates) to:

You can pay by credit card, EPS or cheque made payable to "British Council".  We regret that we cannot accept cash at the Customer Services Centre.

How can I prepare for the BMAT?

Candidates are strongly advised to prepare for the test by referring to the test content and doing the sample tests on the BMAT website: www.bmat.org.uk

Special Needs

We aim to do our best to cater for candidates with special needs.  We will do all we can to enable candidates to understand test questions and ways of giving answers.  All candidates, irrespective of their disability, will be assessed fairly and objectively.

Candidates who require special arrangements are asked to contact us before they submit their application.  Relevant supporting materials such as medical certificates should be submitted during registration.
