There is no pass or fail mark. Scores are given on an Overall Band Score of one to nine.
Different institutions have their own entrance requirements and may require minimum scores in particular modules. In general, universities request an Overall Band Score of 6.0 or 6.5 for entrance to academic courses. You are advised to check the score required with the particular institution to which you are applying.

Scores are recorded on an official Test Report Form, showing overall ability, as well as performance in listening, reading, writing and speaking.
The IELTS Test Report Form will be posted to you 13 calendar days after your test. Please ensure that you provide a valid correspondence address on the application form.
We will give you only one copy of the Test Report Form.
If you require more than five extra copies to be sent to institutions, or your request is made two months after the date of the test, you will need to pay S$21 for each copy of the Test Report Form.
The test has two-year validity.
It is possible to retake the test in the following session.
