As a member you can access education resources on the internet including free online courses, e-subscriptions and daily UK newspapers through our 10 public access computers. Our medium speed access also makes it possible for distance learners to take courses and use resources.

Joining the Learning Centre will give you access to some of the most current books from the UK on a wide range of subjects, including politics, management, information technology, law contemporary fiction, gender, development, education and general interest. As a member, you can search our online catalogue using our computerised system. You can also contact us for details of titles and subjects we stock. We have over 1,000 videos to suit all interests and age groups including comedy, drama, sports, music, documentary and natural history. We also have a growing collection of DVDs.
There are over 250 audio cassettes which you can listen to while driving or listen to in place of reading a book. These are called talking books so if you are too busy to read this is the answer.

Join the Learning Centre and you could teach yourself how to use Windows, Excel, Microsoft Word. You can even learn to speak and write French, German, Spanish, Arabic.
We work closely with John Birchall, Bristol University to run a Current Affairs Club which meets and discusses current topical issues twice a month. Membership of the Chat Club is open to all Learning Centre members.
A free webchat happens for two hours so members can chat with the webmaster on the topic for the day.
