Integration for Impact 3
7-10 November 2005
Belgrade, Serbia

The Conference, Integration for Impact, is the third in a series of conferences looking at education reform in this region, held in Belgrade 7 – 10 November 2005.

Building on the successes of the previous high profile conferences in Prague in 2002 and in St. Petersburg in 2003, this conference enabled us to share experience and outline priorities for planning effective strategy in education reform work throughout the regions (Central & Soth East Europe).

The conference focus on integration meaning integration in terms of:

  • presentations of integrated projects, i.e. work involving co-operation between different agencies within a country and/or between policy-makers, institutions and individuals from the UK and countries in the region
  • regional and inter-regional synergies i.e. awareness of reform agendas important to SEE, Central Europe, and Russia, and those that cut across all three regions
  • a possibility to establish discussion groups in order to allow participants to help shape the direction of future cooperation on projects within the regions.

We believe that the conference was an excellent opportunity for colleagues involved in education to take stock of the impact British Council supported education reform work to date, develop new initiatives and make effective plans for the future.
