Café Scientifique
Stretch Your Brain Muscles

Café Scientifique provides a unique forum for the discussion of topical and thought provoking scientific issues in a way that is much more relaxed, informal and accessible than a public lecture.

Each event begins with a short talk from a speaker who is usually a scientist or science writer.. The audience consists of people who have an interest in science but generally never have the opportunity to discuss their views on the implications of science for society.

In the British Council, we do it hi-tech. There are usually three countries involved and the event is coordinated via video conference.

You don’t only enjoy the relaxed atmosphere but you are also in a position to meet young people with the same interests and have a wonderful time.

Here is the list of Café Scientifique events that were held during the 2006/2007 academic year, and here you can download the participants’ reviews.
