Think Social. Act Business.
Social enterprises that solve problems of marginalized groups

Second Call for Applications is now open

“Think Social Act Business” is a programme we are implementing with the Youth with Disability Forum, which is supported by the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, aiming at promotion and development of social entrepreneurship in Serbia.

This programme includes educational part with both theoretical and practical work, support to participants in preparation of business plans, selection of the best social-entrepreneurial idea, as well as promotional media campaign. The project is being realised in the period September 2011 – March 2012

Educational part of the project is intended for all individuals and/or organisations interested in developing knowledge and skills in the area of social entrepreneurship, and the right to take part will get those who show, in their application form, the biggest potential of their business ideas.

The team for selection will choose up to 72 participants who will get training in one of the cities and in the following periods: in Kragujevac 1-5 November, Novi Sad 15-19 November or Belgrade 29 November – 3 December, 2011.

Aims of the project:

raising awareness about possibilities social entrepreneurship is providing to individuals and the community
capacity building for development of social entrepreneurship by providing educational training for preparation of business plans
establishing a dialogue and partnerships between social entrepreneurs and the business sector

Participation in the programme and business plan development will get you a certificate that you completed the training as well as the network of mutual support provided by all participants.

During the course of the programme, we will try to make contacts for you with representatives of the profit sector and local self-governments, which can contribute to realisation of your business plans.

Co-operation between two organisations (British Council and Youth for Disability Forum) is a continuation of the programme which the British Council started two years ago in order to draw near British model of social entrepreneurship to interested individuals and organisations in Serbia.

HOW TO APPLY?

In order to apply for participation in the programme you need to complete and send the application form along with your CV and a letter of motivation.

The whole applications should be in Serbian.

When you start completing the application form it is desirable that you present your idea in the most concrete and realistic way.  If it possible, it is desirable that you have already thought carefully about the business concept and done necessary research. The innovative approach in business development would be especially valued as well as ideas that are dealing with problems of marginalised groups.

The deadline for submission of applications is 25 October 2011.

Please send your completed application form to communications@britishcouncil.rs

Accommodation and travel costs are not covered by the programme.
