We have undertaken a consultation with stakeholders in the participating countries, and our partners in the UK, to enable us to develop new materials that support the teaching of citizenship and civic values across Europe. The materials comprise lesson plans and guidance notes for secondary school teachers and other leaders of young people. They support citizenship education for those aged 11-18.
Materials are available in both English and Serbian and will be disseminated across Serbia for use and reference in state schools for age 11-18 either through Citizenship related subjects or in English language classes.
The materials comprise five units on the following themes:
Why do people have to leave their homes and migrate to other countries?

The materials are designed to be used in schools and colleges participating in the British Council’s Living Together school linking programme. However, the British Council is pleased to offer this material free to other teachers working on these important themes.
Queries and comments about the materials and/or the school linking programme should be addressed to our Belgrade office.
