HOW TO APPLY?

The application for FameLab 2012 in Serbia is closed as of  Wednesday, 7 March 2012.

The short-listed candidates will be invited for the Heats, that will be held on Saturday, 17 March 2012 in Belgrade.

WHAT HAPPENS AT THE HEATS?

Ilija Bilić at the Heats, FameLab 2009

At the Heats, each candidate will be given a maximum of three minutes to present a scientific topic of their choice. Impress the judges with your knowledge of science, clarity and charisma and you could be selected to compete in the finals!

In these three minutes you should inspire and excite public imagination by giving an entertaining and original talk that is scientifically accurate. So make sure your subject matter is well chosen and clearly put across, that your facts are right, and that you let your passion for your subject shine through!

The best candidates from the Heats will qualify for the Serbian National Finals. They will all go through a free three-day Masterclass in science communication, where they will have the opportunity to work with a UK science communication trainer.

The Masterclass will be held on Jastrebac, 23-25 March 2012.

FameLabbers Ivana Horvat, Momir Đekić, Elvira Đurđić and Vladimir Bajić hosting the Café Scientifique TV programme on RTS

A lot of the FameLab finalists continue to work in the field of science communication! Many of them became co-ordinators at the Belgrade Science Festival, others started a TV career on RTS (Café Scientifique), many still write for reputable scientific magazines and web portals.

Have you already heard of Vladimir Živković, Tijana Prodanović, Mirko Đorđević, Momir Đekić or Mariana Jaškov? They are all national winners of the FameLab competition in Serbia that are still very successful in their careers.
