CandoCo Dance Company
Belgrade, Belgrade Drama Theatre
10 October 2008

CandoCo, the leading contemporary dance company of disabled and non-disabled dancers, started their new tour in Belgrade Drama Theatre on 10 October 2008. CandoCo once again raised the bar of excellence in the two challenging works of extreme physicality and intense performance punctuated by an eclectic choice of music.

With two very different pieces by top choreographers Nigel Charnock and Hofesh Shechter – ‘Still’ and ‘Perfect human’, CandoCo tried to push the boundaries of contemporary dance and make Belgrade audience rethink what dance is and who can dance. If you want to know more about their 2008/09 tour, check out studio footage and Hofesh Shechter interview. If you missed the Belgrade premiere, please visit the CandoCo Belgrade performance photo gallery.

Before they started the tour, CandoCo took part in the closing ceremonies of the Beijing 2008 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The eight minute presentation featured CandoCo, Zoo Nation and dancers from the Royal Opera House perform at the handover ceremony when London mayor Boris Johnson was handed the Olympic flag for the London 2012 Olympic Games.
