Access online databases from your home

What are Online Resources?
Our collection of online resources, called Athens, is an integral part of our membership package that gives you the option to use them from your home, work or from our Internet centre if you do not have a computer and Internet connection. It means that you get unlimited access to specialised online encyclopaedias, dictionaries, e-books, e-databases and learning guides.

What is Athens?
Athens is an online access system that allows full control to online resources. Athens keeps access to our multiple resources simple because you have a single password sign-on. In other words, you only need one username and password to access many of our resources.

How do I get the access to Online Resources?
If you are a first time user, all you should do is to fill in the application form and your personalised username and password will be emailed to you. You can fill in the application form in our premises or do it online – make sure you state correctly your membership card number (under the barcode of your British Council membership card) and email address.

The online resources account is connected to your membership and will be valid until it expires. We will inform you ahead about this and when you renew it, your online resources account will be renewed as well.

When you get the email with your username and password, just log on to http://www.athensams.net/myathens and you can immediately start browsing series of exciting and useful online resources.

If I need any help or have a question?
Please use these pages to read and learn more about every single online resource we have prepared for you. Apart the general information, you will find directions where to find additional help or even to download the step-by-step guides about that particular resource.

If you still have questions or need further assistance, like if you forget your username and password, please email us to info@britishcouncil.org.yu
