Question # 1
What are the criteria?

You have to meet the following criteria:

Serbian resident in Serbia
university graduate
at least two years of relevant work experience in Serbia after graduation
fluency in spoken and written English
leadership potential you can prove through your examples in practice

Question # 2
How to apply?
The candidate completes the application form online. The applicant creates their own login and password and the system allows partial completion of an application so that applicants can return to complete the form.

When all pages of the application have been completed the applicant should submit their application.  From this point forward they will no longer be able to log in and the applicants log-in and password will be deleted.

Applicants are required to provide correct information when completing the application form and be able to provide official documents when requested. The information on the application form is considered fully confidential. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Double entry applications will not be considered for the award.

Any application form, sent to the British Council by e-mail or other means will not be considered for the awards.

No additional documents are required at the time of submitting the form.

Question # 3
What is the deadline?

Applications should be submitted before the deadline stated on the advertisement and on our website. No exceptions at all. If you are late, the online system will not accept your application. The deadline is 1700 of the last day of the application.

Question # 4
What are the next steps?

After submitting the form, applicants will receive an e-mail confirmation note along with the individual application number sent to the e-mail address provided in the form. Applicants who do not receive a confirmation note by at least one working day after submitting their form are required to contact the British Council Serbia by e-mail.
The processing of all application will take place after the deadline. After careful consideration the British Council Serbia will notify all the applicants regarding the progress of their form via e-mail in due course.
Successful candidates will be invited for an interview by e-mail.
Applicants who are unavailable to attend the interview at the required date cannot be considered nor can we make any special arrangements to change the date or place of interview.
Applicants who are successful in the interview will be contacted individually to discuss the next steps.

Please note that British Council staff can not discuss the status of any application with the applicants or give reasons for rejecting an application at any stage.

Question # 5
What documents should I provide for the interview?

If you are invited for the interview you will be informed what additional documents you should have with you. You may be asked to provide following:

two references - one academic and one from your employer, signed by the referee and in English
copy of the undergraduate diploma
copy of the record (transcript) of passed exams (photocopy of the index is not acceptable)

There is no need for an official and legalised translation of certificates at the first stage. We shall ask you for that later on, if you are successful.

Question # 6
What are 'CHEV/2 form', 'Med 100 form'?
Forms that have to be filled-in later on if you are successful. Not relevant at all at the first stage of the application and reference for them is included in the part 'For official use only' of the application.

Question # 7
Do I need IELTS test certificate (or any other official certificate)?

No. You do not need an official certificate to prove your English competence. All applicants who pass paper selection and interviews successfully will be asked to sit IELTS at British Council, at our expense.

Question # 8
Do I need to have preliminary contacts with a university in the UK?

Yes, you do. It is expected that applicants know what course of study they would like to pursue. The best way to get informed is through the website Education UK , the most extensive database of all universities in UK and selection of studies (courses) that they offer.
