Professional Development for Teachers of English around Serbia continues

In October and November 2010, in co-operation with English Language Teachers' Association (ELTA), we continued with our TKT Tour Round Serbia project following last successful implementation in 10 towns around Serbia.

In October and November 2010, ELTA trainers trained by the British Council visited 10 towns in Serbia and delivered a one day TKT Essentials seminar for our colleagues.

Schedule is:

Town Date
Velika Plana 9 October 2010
Sabac 16 October 2010
Kikinda 16 October 2010
Krusevac 16 October 2010
Kraljevo 23 October 2010
Jagodina 23 October 2010
Vrsac 23 October 2010
Gornji Milanovac 30 October 2010
Vranje 30 October 2010
Bor 13 November 2010

The trainings are based on active participation of the teachers and their involvement in the program. Thus, the workshops are being executed through pair and group work, emphasizing individual contribution of the teachers and their newly acquired skills and knowledge.

TKT Essentials is an exciting program for non-graduate or graduate teachers in need of professional development, to achieve their full potential and thus model and manage their students to become the workforce of the future. TKT Essentials aims to provide teachers with an introduction to the basic theory, associated with a communicative approach to English Language Teaching. The course structure and content is based on the syllabus of the Cambridge ESOL Teaching Knowledge Test. Students themselves will benefit from improved language skills, knowledge and a better appreciation of a multicultural environment.
