TEACHINGENGLISH - YOUR GLOBAL HOME
Aim Beyond the Language
Sunday, 27 March 2011, 11.00
Terazije 8/II, Belgrade

Most of our projects are attempts to expand the learning time and employ cross-age/peer teaching. Since the time that children spend in English lessons is rather short and they have only one teacher to cater for so many of their needs we should find a way to make room for English in their everyday life as well as some supporting roles to unburden the teacher and make the learning more memorable and effective.

It is of great importance to provide our students with the continuous “evolution” of their projects. Our main goal is to bridge the gap between their elementary and secondary English lessons, to involve them all in common projects and to trace their development. Our extracurricular activities and colleague cooperation open new perspectives, offer different points of view and increase our flexibility and open-mindedness. It is an undoubted truth that our students can only benefit from the fact that two heads are better than one, and for the teachers, it is a priceless merit to have a colleague supporter, adviser and collaborator on complex projects. All the teachers have a common aim, and the easiest way to achieve it is to join forces and aim beyond the language.
