David McCrone has written extensively on social and political change and the sociology of nationalism, as well as playing a principal role in the study of the impact of civil society on constitutional change.

David is currently advisor to the Scottish Parliament’s committee exploring the impact of its founding principles on its practices and procedures. He is a fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh.
