Education 2006
Linking UK policy, international practice and the British Council
Brighton, 19-24 March 2006 (event 0561)

One of the themes of Strategy 2010 is bringing UK and overseas knowledge about capacity and demand together. ETG and BC Seminars are holding this major education event in the UK which will offer BC staff overseas the chance to:

  • Develop their understanding of directions in education policy from those in the UK who are developing that policy
  • Debate the development of BC education activity in the regions, in the light of UK and regional priorities and S2010 outcomes

The outcome for delegates will be to enable them to plan and implement regional and local education products through effective dual-key.

The seminar will have a varied format, including talks by high-level speakers from education in the UK, presentations and workshops on specific aspects of education in the UK, case studies of British Council education projects from the regions, regional networking groups, and workshops with ETG and overseas staff.

The event develops the education update seminars that have been run in recent years for overseas staff, but has a new format, high-level external speakers and a more strategic approach.
