Learning through sport
Oxford, 22–27 May 2004

This study tour and seminar explores how sport can be used as a tool to engage, motivate and lead young people into learning. During the visit strategic links will be established between clusters of schools in the UK and schools in selected countries. Four participants will be invited from up to ten selected countries.

The seminar aims to:

  • facilitate a process through which each participating British Council country, their local partners and their UK link partners can develop their own education through sport strategy
  • to allow all partners to share and learn from each other
  • to shape the global British Council sport strategy.

Each country delegation will be made up of a British Council member of staff, a policy-maker from the national or local Ministry of Education, a head teacher and a teacher from a school involved in the link.

This seminar is by invitation only.
