Brighton, 19–23 January 2004

This multinational event will focus on the part played by VET internationally in preparing people for the world of work.  Through the exchange of information and best practice, participants will explore latest developments and approaches for tackling common challenges.  The main topics and issues will include:

  • VET policy development
  • best practice in teaching and learning
  • occupational standards and competencies for business and industry
  • qualifications
  • governance and management of VET institutions
  • the role of employers
  • quality systems.

Participant profile
The seminar is designed for participants from around the world with a variety of experiences and skills. It will have a strong appeal to policy-formers and decision-makers in government and education, vocational education practitioners, and employers with a particular interest in vocational skills and workforce development.  All will be encouraged to share experiences so as to create and foster a network to shape future policies and initiatives in this field.
