1. Under the terms of UK data protection legislation, the British Council needs permission to enter your details, (name, address and other contact information) onto our database. If your details are already there, we shall ensure that they are up-to-date. This will allow us:
- to contact you again if we run a similar event in the future in which we feel you might wish to be involved
- to pass your details to event participants, and to subject professional colleagues in the UK or overseas offices, if either is looking for a specialist in your field
(Note: As a direct result of their involvement in one of our seminars, contributors may be invited to take part in follow-up activity in one of the countries represented at the event)
2. British Council Seminars asks contributors to provide in advance of the seminar a short overview of their presentation. This can be a one-page summary or in a format such as PowerPoint. These summaries are given to participants on arrival, and are of particular help to those whose command of English is less secure. Would you please confirm that we may use the material you provide in this way, and that if you are reproducing material supplied by anyone else, you have their permission to do so.
3. We normally give participants brief biographical details of contributors. We therefore ask you to confirm that you agree to these being distributed to participants.
