Transatlantic Network 2020

The transatlantic network 2020 is a major British Council initiative aimed at strengthening ties between Europe and North America by building up a network of young professionals who have the potential to shape society over the next few decades.

Members are recruited from a wide range of professional backgrounds.

Following the program's launch in March of 2008, the Transatlantic Network 2020's Inaugural Summit took place in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland from 28 September - 4 October 2008.

The network will enable members to:

establish an enduring cross regional network of international influencers
learn from their peers, international speakers and thinkers in current position of authority
access personal and professional development opportunities
gain increased cultural awareness
influence the debate and contribute thought leadership on issues of global concern.

The United Kingdom’s international organisation for cultural relations and educational opportunities.
