What international students say about studying in Scotland

'Illustration is a course that requires a lot of creative input - and there is no shortage of stimuli to be had in Edinburgh. There is such a wide variety of people to meet, which in turn means a variety of view points, cultures, opinions, and ideas.

My time at eca has been a happy melting pot of all these things, stirred by a variety of tutors and practicing illustrators, and fuelled by an international environment and the space to realise my ideas.'

'I came back to study at Dundee because I was familiar with the campus and city having studied abroad as an undergraduate, and it was faster and cheaper than getting my Masters in America. The design program is also one of the best in the UK, so that was very appealing to me. I enjoy having cheap and easy access to so many different cultures and countries which enriches my study as a designer.'

'When most people find out that I am from New York, they ask me why I gave up the 'Big Apple' for Aberdeen. I tell them how I love the way Aberdeen can give you that big city feel and at the same time it is small enough for you to often bump into friends in town. I like the fact that I am getting a totally different perspective on the world around me.'
